Introduction

Welcome to Rwanda, the land of thousand hills, thousand smiles, and unlimited opportunities! Your seven days tour around Rwanda will enrich you with the knowledge, experience, and exploration of the land less spoken of, and revelations of what to do next as business opportunities unfold!

Below is a summarized breakdown of what 7 days tour around Rwanda look like, but not limited to more experiences and findings as long as all that the future reserves for you cannot be summarized in this short description:

Day 1: Transfer to Musanze- Canoeing at Mukungwa river

Early in the morning, The driver and the tour manager assigned for your trip will meet you at the hotel (to be mentioned) to start your journey of Rwandan discovery by the trip to the Northern Province, home to Volcanoes National park. Upon your arrival in Musanze, You will meet the local guide who will take you through a canoeing experience on the Mukungwa River.  The activity takes three hours. You will have to be prepared for this adventurous exercise, both in belly and mind since the trip requires being fit and awake.

 

Day 2: Nature walk – Buhanga Eco-park

On the second day, after breakfast, you will leave the campsite and go to Kininigi, Where you will meet other visitors of the volcanoes national park, get a briefing, and meet your guide who will take you to Buhanga Eco-park. It is a natural forest that boasts of different types of old trees, mysterious trees, king’s ordaining ceremonies which used to take place in this forest, and other rich histories behind that forest. It is a soul-refreshing environment to visit for nature lovers.  After lunch, you will have time to relax and rest before the next adventure on the following day.

Day 3: Transfer to Rubavu: City tour & Lake Kivu Activities

In the morning, you will leave Musanze city to Rubavu city where you will spend a whole day exploring the city which is characterized by cross border trade (Rwanda- Congo border, the Kivu beach, African art gallery, local restaurant, and cafeteria. This is a place that has a lot to explore and experience which cannot be finished in a short stay. It fits every tourist’s taste. The afternoon will be marked by lake Kivu activities, swimming, boat cruise, beach games, and relaxing.

In the evening, you will go to your accommodation overnight, where a local band of musicians can be arranged to entertain you if you choose that.

Day 4: Kayaking on Lake Kivu

For better management of water, the group will be split into two groups, one to do Kayaking in the morning and another group in the afternoon. There may be various activities around to do for the group which is not on a Kayaking trip. This will be a great experience on the largest lake in Rwanda with a lifetime experience.

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe NP

In the morning, you will leave Rubavu city to Nyungwe National park. The journey takes you through the Kivu belt, characterized by amazing picturesque mountainous tea plantations, rolling hills, and Lake Kivu. There is a stopover to Karongi, for lunch relaxing before the journey to Nyungwe NP continues. Here also will visit different islands in Kivu lake, where you will see the beauty of the city from a different perspective, learn about the historic “Chapeau de Napoleon” which is one of the highest points in the islands. 

In the afternoon, you will continue your journey to Nyungwe NP, Where you will spend a night prior to morning activities. The whole trip will be characterized by amazing mountain views, many interesting sights to learn about during your journey as your curiosity leads you to ask the tour guide, who understands better the country and the communities around.

Day 6: Nature Walk- Imbaraga Hiking Trail/ Kamiranzovu Waterfall trail

This trail is characterized by trekking in the forest, passing by four small waterfalls. It is a great way to refresh your body with fresh air and rejuvenating your body with deep breaths. The whole tail takes between 5-6 hours of trekking depending on the individual’s physical fitness. 

This trail is the epitome of what Natural forests are all about. You will have a great moment during yours.

Day 7: Canopy walkway & Return to Kigali

In the morning, after breakfast, you will go to the park reception where your journey to the canopy walk begins. The Canopy walk is one of the tops in the Park and in Africa. This is a nature walk that includes short hiking. After that, you will start your journey back to Kigali. Upon your arrival, depending on the time, you will discuss with your tour guide which points of interest you want to visit during the city tour before drop off.  

This will mark the end of your tour.
